My first half dollar I found was in the same shape as this one except it was a 1941. That was 35 years ago, time flies when you're having fun.

Thats a nice find,going by the remarks i assume that this is not a common coin,so what is special about it ?? i am aware that it was produced during the war years,so can anyone enlighten me please what is special about it.

Nothing that special except that they are silver and year I was born! You don't find so many as they are so big and not many were lost compared to dimes, quarters and pennies.

Personally, I think it's quite simply the most beautiful coin ever produced by the US mints.
