Just another individual not spending time to learn the language of their detector. Oh well, someone will get a good deal

Due to my work schedule I don't have enough time to really learn my machine. However I have used it enough to know that it can out shoot another very high dollar detector. I've done it twice. Once on a beach there were three people with minelabs and they scoured the beach supposedly. I met up with them after three hours and outgunned all of them together. Another time I went directly behind the mighty \%% and found over a dollar in just twenty feet. Take your time and learn this unit. It also has iron grunt which is similar to mixed mode on v3i

You are right Gramps the MX Sport is very sensitive especially if compared to the AT Pro (of which I have one) and for that matter many other detectors.

I to had questions about its ability as a useful multi-purpose detector, it was so different to other detectors I've used in the past 35 years that I could see it wind up on eBay unused.
However I consulted the User's Guide which confirmed the MX Sport was indeed different in the modes I had question marked; back to testing the obtained info ..... the MX Sport is no longer considered an eBay item, in fact it could just turn out to be an exceptional multi-purpose detector.

A few more tests will be conducted, one of which will be between the 10"DD and the 9.5" Concentric on a wet ocean beach and in the water.

It is said the Concentric coil is better for wet beach and salt water work than the 10"DD, better not dispute that before one have the facts by doing it oneself, or if someone else can post a video of said test.

Another test will be on our gold fields to see if the MX Sport have enough ground balance ability to eliminate the mineralised ground effect in these areas.

So there is a few tests to look forward to.

Bottom line: The MX Sport needs a good deal of understanding.

Very well put Oz. Whites has made some of the best machines ever, right from the inception of their company. Though I now use brand X mostly, I would consider getting another Whites at the crack of a hat. Like any machine, it really needs to be understood...and will be, with much usage.

I here ya guys the MX sport is a different machine indeed! Went to a bay on lake Michigan today and used coin and jewelry mode with a 13 inch coil its a state park , and found that the sport will detect four inches on zero sensitivity I generally run it on 6 or 7 but will turn it down more next time out. I do like how hot it is on aluminum even the smallest sounds like a class ring! I'll be turning the volume down as well , hot rocks hit about foil range but some higher! Guess if l discrimed out more to just under nickle I would miss more hot rocks ! But would miss small gold and chains . a hunting buddy that was their at the lake found a child's 10 carat ring with his MX , he runs it in all metal , sensitivity at 5 and iron grunt with sat 4 or 5 . he's a minelab guy but wants the MX for small chains .I want mine for the Lunkers men's gold rings of course ! Any golds a good find , lve had to slow down a lot and realizing l don't need tcheck out every high tone in silver range , what lve found is the sport will give a coin type tone double beep more clear than scrap metal, but passing those up is still hard. I would like to here how the MX does on prospecting for gold nuggets we do have some areas in upper mi where gold is found , bigger than placer glacier stuff . well thanks for your advice waterhound.

Hey buddy...good to hear you're taking the time to learn the MxSport. It will definitly detect DEEP at a lower setting. Check out my post on that small brass looking pin. Good luck!!
