From what I understand the Tone ID mod. won't work on a 4900. The mod. circuit is based on the VDI Meter circuit of the 5900/ 6000 series which the 4900 does not have.N/T Posted by: Adam(Va) Date: June 04, 2009 05:27AM | Registered: 7 years ago Posts: 158 |
Just a quick reply regarding differences. Posted by: Monte Date: June 04, 2009 08:12AM | Registered: 8 years ago Posts: 4,727 |
According to the catalogs and what was stated at the time, (now relying on aging memory) the 4900/D Pro Plus was in the blue box, the 4900/DL pro Plus was in the black, SL configuration. Both came with an 8" coil and DID NOT use the Blue max series of coils.Quote

What is the differences between the 4900DL/Pro Plus introduced 1990 and the 4900DL/Max introduced 1995?
Both have black boxes and my 4900DL/Pro Plus I just snagged, has a signal balance knob like the DL/Max has.

Note that he says the Bigfoot is showing up in Competition Hunts across the country and he refers to the "White's Pro" models.Quote

Hi Monte,
Why do you think Whiteselectronics.net doesn't recommend the Bigfoot coil for the XL Pro. You would think the added depth from the XL Pro would be welcome. Reading some of your earlier posts I know you are not a big fan of the Bigfoot coil, but what do you think? The 6.59khz Bigfoot was designed for the 4900/5900/6000/Quantums/Spectrums/XLT but not recommended for the XL Pro? Strange.
