Canadian Treasure Hunting

Maybe my Canadian friends can help me out - I will be traveling to the Invermere, B.C. area in a couple of months from Utah. Are provincial parks off limits to metal detecting? What about roadside rest areas and city parks? Are most lakes OK for metal detecting? Any tips for staying out of trouble other than using the standard treasure hunters code of ethics and common sense? Thanks for your help.

Not sure of BC province for detecting , out here all Provincial parks
and lakes are a go as long its not private property.
National Parks are off limit.
I suspect BC may be similar again not sure.
Perhaps someone will join in from that part of the world.

Thanks, Joel. If I can find a Provincial Park Ranger I'll ask first.
