What is the best pinpointer for the money? I got the bounty hunter one which I am not too happy with because you must be within it seems a half an inch for it to detect. The reason I come to this forum is because I saw a lot about the garret pro-pointer going for about $127 right now. Whats the best way to go? Thanks HH

I have stopped a hunt because the battery in my Pro-pointer died and I didn't bring my gear bag ( was close to home). Got a new battery and went back out. I don't wanna go without my P-P.

the Garrett PP is the best out there. prices go from $117.00 to around $130. ya gotta shop around. BigBoys has the best prices for mds and pp i have found. there's also little tricks that can get you 1/2" at least more depth. will pick up target with-in 2.5 - 3" just out of the box. the only one i've seen that has more depth is the pestol probe. some folks like them but most go for the Garrett.it's worth every penny.

Sounds good. I think it will help my digs go much faster with the added detection. Thanks everyone. HH

I started with the Automax piece o' crap that came free with my detector.......needless to say it now sits around collecting dust as I've gotten my own PP. It's a beast of a machine. I now will never be without it again, in fact it is in my truck at all times ....dont want to chance forgetting it when i go out hunting :)
