deep seeking metal decters

I have a Garrett 2500 gti with an eagle eye (two box) plus a fishers gemini-3.(two box). Close to an old metal sided barn, My garrett will not make a sound, about 12-18"from the side. while my gemini-3 will be screaming like an up-set wife.now there is no metal inside the barn,an i have moved my g-3 one way or the other,and ,about 18"either it dies out. dig it up? well, i am 82 yr. ol....YOUNG.but not that young. what do you people think????

you should see what is upsetting the wife otherwise you won't be able to go out to detect. JMHO

I beleive, that the g3 is more sensitive and is detecting the metal on the wall.

You could try probing before you dig.. I've got a couple of old one piece
car radio antennas I use for that. But those are only good for 3 feet or so..
But any long thin rods can be used to probe around. Soak the ground with
water if it's hard as a rock. If you are going down the side of the metal barn
at a constant distance away from the wall, and you get that hit, just in the one
place, there could be something down there. Probably rusty iron I bet..
But I'd try to make sure it's not hitting on anything above ground.
