I would say your excal should do it all from what I've read on the (North East Metal Detecting Forum) they say you can find rings at 18 plus inches and only be digging the good stuff as the excal is the only thing that can find gold! They also say that with the DF you'll only find bobby pins and iron being that it's such a lousy detector just slowing you down on trying to find gold! Hope this helps???

PS. They were stating these supposed results were with the excalibur 800! eighteen plus inches on targets seems a little far fetched to me but if (SOMEONE THERE) says so it must be! Don't know why anyone would buy a pulse unit then???

Just wondering here, if the DF is such a lousy machine, why is your name TheDualFieldBandit?

Because I'm such a lousy bandit! Don't worry if you got a DF in my opinion it's the best unit going you won't miss anything with it even the smallest of earring or even some of the thinnest chains!

Yes, very lousy detector .. makes me dig so deep Im sick of it,I cant stand it anymore ..I keep looking to see if its still on my arm ..I need another one that weighs so I can tie on my back and aggravate my back and see that its there
