When you get a beep, pinpoint it, then sweep in a circle around the target, listening for another beep. Bobby Pins, Rusty nails, and other elongated items will double beep and sound like 2 targets next to eachother. Targets are pretty spread out on my beaches, so I skip all double beeps... unless it double beeps one way and also double beeps from 90 degrees, I dig those, a few times they turned out to be broken rings or big bangle bracelets.
