Fisher 1210-X Automatic Ground Balancing Really Preset?

I've gotten a good deal on a Fisher 1210-X, and am wondering if it truly has "automatic ground balancing" as this review from Lost Treasure from February 1985 states...
"Automatic ground balancing is another feature the 1210-X has inherited from its older brothers. This electronic breakthrough enables the instrument to self-adjust to compensate for the audio interferences caused by excessive amounts of mineralization in the soil. It first was a feature on the 1260-X, reappeared as a feature of the 1220-X models and is now incorporated into this latest member of the Fisher family".

If it does have true automatic GB, this gives the 1210-X a leg up on a Tesoro Conquistador, which has a preset GB, right? Thanks for your help!

Ooops, I meant, if 1210-X had automatic ground balance, does it have a leg up on the one-knob Tesoro **Compadre*?, not "Conquistador".

Can't say anything about a leg up on the Tesoro, but I have a 1266x and a 1270 and both have auto GB and it works.

The Fisher 1210 has automatic ground balancing based on inverting differentiators. The phase is preset.
