whats with the drop at the tip of flower....is that normal?

the little greenie tribulb thingie is the stigma, the organ that receives pollen.

thank you, there is a drop at the tip of the long stem in the first picture ...seen better on this picture

Some plants guttate a bit of moisture on their female sex organs to attract thirsty insects. Usually with a bit of sugar. Pretty much the same as with humans. :wink:

In the case of wind-pollinated flowers, pollen needs to stick to the stamen and a little moisture helps.

we have had these flowers and i had never paid attention to that moisture collected. Seemed odd when i first saw it... Glad to know that its "normal" for the plant to do that...thanks for the info
