Went out to have a short hunt but ended up the longest hunt of the year so far. 6 hours is a bit much for this young pup. One real great thing happened we (losingr and me) met John detecting in a park. He was swinging an old 5500/D Whites with 7" coil??? on it. He had a good pile of coins. He bought it new. Years ago. He was kind of interested in the F70. So we had a good chat. It was a joy to talk to an old timer and swap stories.
It sure was a good nickle day. Not bad quarter day either. Junk jewelry.... F70 settings: Disc@25, Sens@70, Thresh@-3, Tones@3H, Notch@tabs.

Man, that's a load! Good hunt, especially the nickels. My one hunt record is only nine nickels. (Your quarter total ain't bad either.)

Yeah Zeek! Six hours is a long time hunting for anybody! Nice work, hope it felt good and didn't wear you out too much.

Irsjr: That was a good nickle day. I haven't found that many nickles in a very long time.

Mud: I have been out a few times only for about an hour around the neighborhood. Took yesterday off.

I got a new mp3 player to replace my PDA that I had for years and it works great but can't update any more. The new mp3 player is a marvel in a little box the size of a cell phone. Can do a lot with the little thing but it takes much time to get the hang of it. I swear a lot. Get stuck a lot. Get lost a lot. I use it to read ebooks and carry it in my shirt pocket.
You can teach an old dog new tricks but you have to convince him that the new trick is worth it first. Should of just got a tablet? Can't carry a tablet in your shirt pocket.
Well made a quick hunt on Sunday and picked up 26 coins.
I had to just get out and away from that little black box...
