3rd day out with my new F75. Two Rosie's, a 1941 Canadian $0.25, some clad and a pile of wheats. Man I'm loving the F75 over my F70, might be time to sell the F70.
Settings: Sense - 49, Disc - 50 , Notch - nickle, Thresh - -3, FA process, 11" DD

Love to see that silver come out of the ground. That's a great day of hunting.

Just some ideas. I have been running the F75LTD2 for about 3 years now. When in FA mode when U hear a quick solid tone switch over to DE mode to hear it solid to make it easier to decide to dig. Also, If U have say a larger coil like the NEL tornado U can run FA mode and achieve greater depth. FA seems to loose a little depth over other settings. You can run the F75 in Boost with a larger coil in open areas and set the sens to near 0. You will pull quarters and other small objects at 10-12 inches easy. I found a quarter at 10 inches with boost on and disc set at 0. Just some ideas to try. Some after market coils seem to not pick up nickels if U use notch at say 27 and disc at higher settings. U might want to just set disc at 27 and ignore any targets in the 35-49 range.

Nalc, thanks for the tips. I actually have the Fisher 18" coil that came with the F75. It's a monster! I could give it a shot next time out. How is the target separation on a large coil like that? My location has lots of nails, aluminum bits, sheet metal, etc. basically everything you would find after tearing out 1940s-50s housing.

I have found FA to be really fast, so fast that a good target could sound like a very short bip, similar to tiny pieces of trash. When I hear a good tone (using DP tones) if I slow down my sweep right over the target it generally would give me a good ID. I also switched to DE mode for a bit and found I was getting a lot of falseing and up averaging, the amount of micro trash is insane.

I managed to pull a 1953 dime out today along with 17 wheat cents and a handful of memorials.

I have the Big coil from NEL. I use a sling. It actually separates great and very deep. I have the new NEL thunder on my etrac. I think the THunder would be great for the F75. Try putting the detector on disc 65, BP, and Notch 27. Also Sens 0-10. It will be stable and deep. What kind of 17 inch coil are u using. The Thunder coil is 15 inches and lighter than a stock coil. Just some ideas. let me know how it works for U. Run the 5 inch stock coil with FA in high junk area. It is amazing.

I found it will still pick up nickels with discrim at 65 and notch off in BP. it seems to be more stable at a high discrimination setting. It has been said it goes deeper at high discrim settings.

Sorry that's the Fisher 15" not 18". I'll try those settings next time I'm out, thanks! Also, my F75 is the Anniversary Edition so no boost process, any suggestions?

Maybe it just felt like a 18". LOL

When that 15" came out there was a few posters were talking about how heavy it was, and some talked about it was showing a bend in the lower rod.

We all knew what coil you were talking about, and a lot of us have posted and wish we could have it back.

As for suggestions, I have been running F75's since 2010 and I was hoping you would give me some. My latest F75Ltd has it all and I can't recall ever finding any silver while using the FA processor.

You are doing good, keep it up and let us know how you are doing.
