I've got an F5 with the 11" DD coil and have been using it now for 3 years and this is my only detector. IMO, this detector has the most bang for your buck out there and it will run with the big dogs.
I'm basically a silver coin Hunter and the F5 loves silver, especially once you get use to listening for those deep(6" to 9") targets, it has faded audio that let's you know the coin is deep but the VID #s on the screen will still show about the same as a shallow coin. Earlier this year I found a 1902 barber 1/2 dollar down between 8" and 9" in a local park that has been hunted to death, this coin has had to have hundreds if not thousands of coils pass over it.
Battery life is 40 hours plus, dependable and is easy to learn how to use.

I agree with still looking. The detector is easy to learn and easy to use. All controls are super easy to access on the fly with the rotary controls. In other words you don't have to delve into a menu system. Personally I think it has the best looking user interface of any detector out there and it's informative as well. I used it exclusively for a while with the stock concentric coil and I liked the absolute pin point accuracy and rejection of bottle caps that this coil provided. Since the ground here can be high in minerals, I prefer using the 11 DD coil nowadays. I've been using other detectors lately just because I wanted to try different frequencies but I could easily live with the F5 as my only detector.

I've acquired the Mars Tiger coil at the beginning of the year and in less trashy areas it has become my favorite coil for both my F5 and F19.

Active detectors: Fisher F5 , Fisher F19 LTD, Nokta Fors CoRe, Makro pointer and way too many coils.
Previous detectors: Bounty Hunter Discovery, Fisher F44, Omega 8000 V6, Minelab X-Terra 705

The F5 is a solid, moderately deep detector with (in my opinion) the best quick access interface in the biz. I've found a lot of copper coins in well hunted areas, particularly copper that had corroded a bit and moved out of typical penny range. For me, it is a joy to hunt with...very fun and intuitive.
