I just ordered the 6.5 inch concentric coil and I would like to hear from those who uses or has used it and how it performed in trash.

For a non double d coil, it is pretty respectful hunting through trash. It certainly isn't the laser that the 5" is, but there is a little more depth with the 6. 5". I always liked that coil for certain applications. HH jim tn

Most places I hunt are full of trash but mostly small iron.I thought about the 5 DD but I know it would take eons to cover 10 square feet with it but I realize the 6.5 will also be slow going. Would the Fa mode help?

It works great............. That said I truly believe it matters where you use it. Different soils ( Areas) of the US seems to make a difference in results.

Ronk, quite honestly, I am even more sold on the Fisher 5 x 10 DD in heavy trash then I am the 6.5 concentric. Just this past week I recovered 2 silver dimes in a heavy trash demo'ed site that had nails in the same hole. The nails were about 2 and 3" off to the side of the coins. The 5 x 10 pinpoints off the toe and that sweet spot can almost be worked in heavy trash like the 5". No, the 5 x 10 is not the laser that the 5" is, but it is more deadly then the 6.5" concentric in my opinion in heavy trash. And I've used both for quite a few years. HH jim tn

They are all good coils, the concentric coils seem to really shine when hunting in iron. Now for other types of non iron trash the DD coils seems to shine.

So for me there is a time and place for both types of coils.

I like to hunt an area with one coil, maybe a big coil, then use one of the little coils like the a DD and then go back with a concentric.

You need a good supply of coils and they all do a good job.

Your 6.5" concentric is a really good coil, I like mine and you will like yours. Maybe your next coil will be one of the DD's.

Good luck,

I already thought about getting the 5x10 DD and probably will sometime. I Did just find a 1903 IH using the 11 DD. Using the 4h tones it made a nice clear mid-high tone.I had a little trouble pinpointing it with that coil but I Do need to try other coils. Most places I hunt are kinda trashy!
