the disc tone is a beep. the all metal side is no motion all metal. you can set the threshold lower to tune out the constant hum if you want, but i like to have it barely audible. its hard to do a test right now on a dime because of the emi in my house

The standard 10 inch coil is great depth, good covadge. I found many old deep coins. Chuck

well,,,with the 8" coil,,and the batteries reading only 8.3 volts i can read an american and canadian 5c. piece @ 14 " and a one cent piece @ 12",,,but with the 10" coil and fresh batteries i reckon you can add at least 2" - 3" inches more,,,hell,,these suckers need a big spade no matter what coil you use,,,can get deeper with me 6" coil than most others 10" coils ,,,no joke,,,p.s. the two tones are very distinctive,,,the all metal is a low 240 hz. buzz and the discrim,. tone is a bell like 950 kz. beep,,to be totally accurate ,,the dmc system gives you a machine which is ,,, * an all metal deep search non-motion detector,,,* an all metal motion detector,,,* a motion discriminator,,,* a non-motion TR discriminator,,,* and an auto-retuning TR discriminator,,,all in one box,,,NOW,,,go and buy one,,,it really does save you messin around with toys,,,this does EXACTLY what it says on the tin,,and then some,,,rgds ,,,:ukflag:

hiya,,just to clarify,,,the, disc. was set at around 20,, sens. at 30,,,,using the 8" coil,,,and as previously stated the batteries are about done at 8 volts,,,,i dont know ,,but i reckon itll pep up with new 9.5 volt batteries all round and sportin the 10" coil,,which totally kicks it for depth,,,,but although i have the 10" and 6" coils ,,i really only use the 8" most of the time ,,,,probably daft really ,,but it really is a surefire ,i.d., deepseeking coil,,,,that for its size NOTHING out there can touch it,,,found more with this setup than my minelab sovereign with the 10" coil could ever do ,,and,at greater depths,,, and more regularly hitting small valuable stuff that i am convinced the multi frequency,,just discd. out with the ground cancel and iron disc. on !!!,,,you lnow,,its great havin these muti-freqs. that work everywhere, nice n quiet,,,but this is about FINDIN STUFF,,not just scannin around with a machine all day for little or no results other than the regular pennies n junk etc. that everybody else seems satisfied with,,i think that all this NOTCH and DISC. and SPACE / TIME CONTINUUM,,ends up puttin no more in the bag than it did 30 years ago when we didnt have it,,,,AM I RIGHT ?? ,,,SURRENDER THE BOOTY,,,,i tell ya,,,if its under the coil,,,the NAUGHTY will miss ,,NOTHING,,! ,,wouldnt you just love a 2BA that works in the SEA ??? yeah,, rgds :ukflag:
