Nauty 6'' coil more durable?

I had a little run of bad luck with coils lately the 8''and 10'',But the little 6'' coil I have is smooth as silk? Any body find the 6'' coils last longer or more durable? This is just a theory maybe the stay in tune longer because they are smaller? My first Nauty IIBa had the older thicker 8'' coil for about 2-3 years and never had a problem? I even had it out in a couple inches of snow and it was smooth as silk with no erratic falses before warm up. I sure wish they would go back to the older thicker type.

I have the thicker 10 and 15 inch coils on my 2BA. Never a problem. My hunting partner had a DMC2 he purchased new around the late 80's. He used it weekly for 20 years until the 2B came out and he purchased one of those. The DMC2 never saw the factory for a retune ever......thicker coils seem to hold up better from what I have seen.
