Kinda heavy for the size.Whatever it is the design looks like a crown on a Spanish Reale. And I love them Reale's. Came in as a 176( copper range) on my Sovereign GT meter.

Look up "Prince of Wales" plumes.

Wales is a western part of the UK.

The Queens oldest son becomes the Prince of Wales, the plumes are a mark of that office. Prince Charles is the current Prince and Prince of Wales and likely heir to the crown.

Could be something endorsed by the PoW or a military unit associated with PoW.

There is a crown at the base of the plumes. Crowns with or on symbols often indicates the UK government or military.

Here is a question, what unit carried the plumes in the Revolutionary War? I don't know the answer but Wiki has a list of all the units that carried the plumes in their badges.
You might just have a relict from that unit. Way cool!

A bit more looking and I might be wrong, the plumes look similar and might be based on PoW but there look like too many feathers, PoW has 3 feathers in each example I have seen. So maybe not, just something based on that design.
