what is this odd shaped lead object ?

I found this on a beach. It was in about 3 inches of clay underneath about 4 inches of sand. I cleaned it up and there is no doubt this thing is made out of lead. It's slightly larger then a quarter in diameter. Any clues ?

View from top, side and underneath. It's hollow. Thanks.

That little nub looks like a pivot point. Tapered cone could have held a glass object. Got to think further about this.
