Not sure if this was discussed yet but, tonight on NGC, National Geographic Channel, there's a new show called "Diggers". Looks like a show involving metal detecting. Just saw the preview and thought I'd get the word out.

Thanks and good hunting,
Mike / '53Silver

Hi Mike, I didn't read all the comments posted 'ln the neighborhood" about what is said to be showing on that program, but from those I read, the general opinion is that it is not likely to produce much (if any) favor toward detecting. That is likely so.I would suggest for those that do watch it pay close attention and not be too enthused over this new found interest in our great hobby. Low Profile is the best way to continue enjoying this great hobby, and if this program will not be pushing some unfavorable agenda in our direction, we most likely will have been to engrossed in the program to have realized it.HH, Charlie

I believe Garrett is a sponsor. I looked at an AT Pro for about 60 seconds. Not for me.

I had to change the channel, The pathethic water hunting style they had took me over the edge. I couldn't tolerate it anymore. :stretcher:

I enjoyed it, especially their excitement of their finds. I had a slight problem with them finding ANYTHING with their coils in the salt water at the beach. Am I missing something here? My ACE 250 and VAQUERO absolutely HATE salt water! Beach is fine and wet sand is fine with the sensitivity turned down a tad but coil IN the salt water? Does the AT PRO have that capability? Otherwise, it was nice to allowed to hunt those areas!

I didn't have my AT long enough to tell. It was a leaker after an hour and a half in freshwater and got rid of it right after it was repaired and went back to my proven Sand and Tiger Shark.

Live and learn I guess.

My guess would be they had their sensitivity set down WAY low in the water.

I think thats why they only spent an hour there.

Looks like the clad they dug there was shallow.

I own one, but have not tried it in salt water.

Smart.

I own the V and 705 also, added the TS for a real water MD ( AT-Pro water resistant not waterproof IMHO )

Good Hunting,
Denny

Well, I watched an hour's worth and may or may not watch it again. They acted like a couple of giddy school girls. Very juvenile, especially the lingo they used.

It was interesting though, to see the finds at the SC plantation house. But really, who jumps around and does cartwheels when they get a mediocre good find. Maybe after finding a big chunk of gold, but really.

Summary, just another goofy reality show.

BTW, there is a big discussion about this, and another md show that will be coming on the Spike network, on the metal detecting forum, .

mike.....

"Giddy school girls" is about right. A little humor is appreciated but it all seemed put on to me.
