The S-12 is electronically compatible with the Excalubir since the Excal electronics are essentially the same as the Sovereign except for some of the features. Minelab does not make a different coil for the Excal vs the Sovereign. However, any modifying of the coil or cable or the Excal will void any warranties.

The Excal is used, and Minelabs do not honor transferable warranty's, so I'M good to go

The reason is that the Minelab coil is hardwired in to the Excalibur and any modifications to the detector i.e. cutting cables, etc. will void warranties.

Used are very hard to find as those that have them are keeping them as they love them. New are still being made last I heard, but can also be hard to find , but if there are any out there Ralph here will know where one can be found.
