Is my X1 going bad?

I've had the X-1 on my E-Trac for about 2 years now, but it's starting to act up. Some times it works perfectly, some times it just goes completely silent or it goes completely bonkers.

I've checked all the connections to make sure everything is snug, nothing is pinched or kinked and it all looks fine.

Recomendations? It reall sucks when it doesn't want to work right.
