I want to git Janet a quality set of strings for hers for her birfday and don't know a dang thing about 'em.
If you don't, maybe ya know a fiddle player than can advise you ?

And , no Ed, i'm not gonna gut my cat and make her a set :nono:

Am i proud to be an American ?
Why no.........
I am humbled to be an American.
Tho, as of late, sometimes embarassed.

At birth, God bestowed upon each of us the most important responsibility there is...................free will.

Sorry, Jim, I am not knowledgeable regarding violins...your best bet is to visit a musical instrument store where they can answer all questions and advise you on what type of violin to purchase....Let me know what happens, please.

Would this be a first violin for your wife....or has she owned one prior to this?

Did she study violin , or will she be pursuing the study of the violin.?

Magz
