on Pawn Stars? I'd never seen one before and didn't realize they had a 20ga shotgun barrel below the revolver barrel. They said it was pretty rough on the shooter when ya lit off the shotgun barrel - but not near as rough as it was on the shootee.

but I think they ended up buying it for around $10K. It was in a little rough condition. Think they said a really nice one was worth up to $30k. I also remember the expert said there were 2,900 of them produced in France for the CSA and a lot of them were carried by officers. This one it was a 2nd edition - like the pic I posted. Really kind of simple how it works. The striker on the hammer swivels down to hit the shotgun primer, up to hit the cylinder primer. They also said it was a .42 caliber. Didn't think your bullets looked quite that large but hard to tell in the pics. Anyway, your post of the bullets made my ears perk up when it came on.

Bob, did you get any shaking from that earthquake?N/T

I'm pretty sure Mr. Ricks Fake TV offer was $9,000.00 and the guy turned it down.

Which leads me to further believe it's all scripted and the gun was never really for sale........... Like many "One of a kind" or very rare pieces that show up in the shop..

A pawn shop would not be the first choice for selling a collectable of that rarity....Only made 2 - 3 years.2,900 made.............

Oh well it's a Tv show.......it was entertaining seeing that gun.. In fact, first time I ever heard of a Pistol 9 shot with a 20 gauge added on the bottom............

I agree ~ a private buyer is going to give you more for it than a pawn shopN/T

Thanks Bob ~ It accepted bullets in calibers from .40 to .42. (guess it wasn't to picky as long as it fit in the chamber) ----N/T

Rick's final offer was $10,000 and the guy was at $12,000. At the end of the show.................

he came back in and sold it for $10,000. Turns out he'd tried unsuccessfully to sell it at a gun show and came back back in for the $10,000. Are these shows a tad on the fakey side? Sure! But, ya might ought to know what you're talking about before you bad mouth them. But you're right, it was very interesting to see the gun and learn about it's history.

Here's a link to the show. Vern, if you want to see the LeMat part, click on the line at about the 20 min mark. The sale is right at the end.

240 mi. due west of the New Madrid fault. The geology between us and the fault is such that it kind of "damps" the earthquakes. We won't see much from anything other than a real big one. Last big ones were 1811-1815 and some say it's due again. I have a book published in 1880 that has eye witness accounts of the big earthquakes. There was some mighty scary stuff went on. If it does happen again there will be a lot of people in a world of hurt.

sounded nasty toward you. Didn't mean it that way. For some reason the History Channel runs about one minute behind the rest of the world. When I record Pawn Stars I always miss about the last minute of the show. My recording cut off just where the seller showed up again. I was curious how it turned out and hunted down the video. That's why I was so sure about what happened.

Pawn Stars is one of the most interesting shows around (to me anyway). I'm very sure the producers manipulate a lot of what goes on. That is what makes it entertaining and is the nature of any successful "reality " show. And, yes, I'm very sure they, from time to time, recruit owners of precious objects who come on with no intention of selling (kind of "salt the mine" so to speak). I have no idea what the Harrison's make from the show but I doubt it's as much as we might think. Their main business remains the pawn shop. They've made a fortune off it and are intelligent enough to realize the shop will have to continue long after the show has run its course. I'd be certain they've drawn a line in the sand as to how much fakery they will tolerate. Just my .02 worth. Bob

Interesting! Do you know how they went about loading shot in the lower barrel?N/T

your correct on the tape.. I did just that.......... and missed the end... Still......I should have confirmed "first" what I posted. I didn't.. You were kind enough to point out my short fall.

I based my statement on a different show interview where Rick Harrison made the statement that some of the TV show was just that, for show.. I actually very much enjoy the Show.. One of the few reality Programs I tape and watch when I can.. So I'm good to go, and have Zero problems with your answer to my original post..Your a fine gentleman too.. Thank you.
