So after 2 weeks, I had a chance to finally get out with my 705. The weather and my job schedule have not been cooperating. I only had an hour and a half so I went to a park which always produces it share of coins. If I had to describe this detector in a word it just might be smooth. Initial set-up was a breeze. I have owned a few other TID units and the 705 is by far the most stable / quiet. Minelab struck a perfect balance in the conductivity resolution and target sizing ability. In my experience I found slop, in either one, can cost you time, and in this hobby time, truly is money! I found 23 coins and there was no question in what I had below the coil. This is by far the best medium priced detector I've used and I've been detecting for nearly 20 years. Nice job Minelab.

I take mine on the road with me when I do road jobs. I'd rather spend a few quality hours of detecting and drive home when it's dark! I did a 3 hour away road job this week, just happened to have my 705 in tow. The ground was crusty in a few spots yet unfrozen, I only had an hour, I was sick, I was tired .... I felt like a new man when I was done detecting! You can have Yoga and meditation for relaxation, hand me my detector!

I think the Terra is brilliant and last year i could not believe how much i had off the beach with it.
This year is a slow start but wont be long before i am finding £40 + each trip with it.
Get a bigger coil though for better stability and depth, thats the only thing i think it needs which i have done.
Even sold my E.Trac because i use my Terra mostly on the beach.
