take a Seat an one of the Barbers will be with you soon

Sunday I went to an old school that I was at last week and they are still using this school. I'm guessing it was built in the very early 1900's. When I was there last I found a 1867 IH and a 1892 worlds fair token/medal and both of them were a good 8" to 9" deep and I was only there for about a 1/2 hour because it started to rain so I needed to come back to check it out a lil better. Well Sunday I went back and I am glad I did. Everything in the pictures come from this school except for the Rosie, I found that at a park that I stopped at on the way to this school. all the coins and the 2 silver rings were at least 8" deep and a few of them were a good 10" deep. With the ground being as dry as it is a round here I had to swing the coil real slow so that I could hear the real faint signals and I mean faint. I played a round with the GB a few time to see if I could get a lil more power to make those coins stand out a lil better but that didn't help. The only thing I could do was swing super slow and run the Sen at max and check out every faint signal and if it repeated and showed max depth, dig it because most times it was a nice old coin. I was there for about 5 hours and only worked an area about 30' x 50', that's how slow I was going. The next time I go back to this school I am going to take my friend with me. He has a Etrac and I would like to see what the Etrac pulls out of this place.

Great hunt Mark. You definitely know how to make that 505 walk-the-walk! Those are days you won't soon forget. Congrats! HH Randy

P.S. Don't you and Jim be finding all the good stuff before I get up that way!

Oh I'm sure you will do just fine with the X505. The more you use it the better you will get. The X505 is easy to figure out, the problem is figuring out how it reacts to all the different types of soils that you will run in to and that can take a lil time.

Good Luck and have fun
