Hot and dry

It's been very hot and dry here in the midwest (western central Illinois)
And I have noticed signals are more few and far anyone else notice this or is it my imagination working on me?
The metal in the ground just don't have the halo making it harder to locate at least that is my understanding.
My findings are way down.
Man we need a good slow soaking rain!
Keep on swinging and HH.

Yeah come on rain. It's been so HOT 104 + daily, in the 80s at night and 5% humidity.

Definitely hot and dry in our area also. You get better conductivity when the ground has a higher moisture content.

My ground is dryer than dry 1/2" rain so far and that's for the year.

I always prefer moist ground. Better (stronger) signals and easier recovery. Clay soil in PA is almost like "pottery" when it's this hot & dry.
