semi key date SLQ and a LC

Sunday morning I went to check out a new place and it turned out to be a good one. Their is one problem with this place, it has the type of soil that the X505 just does not care for. Their is a lot of river rock mixed in with the soil and that type of rock tends to be a lil hot so all day I was getting a lot of false signals. when ever I did come across a target the tones would be broke up a lot and the numbers would jump a round a lot so you had no clue as to what you were digging you just knew that their was something down there. I ended up digging a lot of foil and rusty bottle caps yesterday.

One of my best finds was a 1927s semi key date SLQ and the huge surprise of the day was the 1850 LC and it was only about 6" deep and both of those finds I would of swore that they were going to be a rusty bottle cap by the way the numbers were jumping and the tones were all broke up. Places like this is when I sure wish I had a etrac, maybe someday, lol

It was mostly showing #48 and a broke up high tone, but most of all the coins I found at this place was showing higher numbers then what you would normally see.

Most of the LC's that I have found in the past have come in anywhere from a penny to a Quarter

Not in the Pic's, I did find 10 wheat's also and all but 2 of them are in the teen's

What a killer day, if you ever get an etrac, you will dominate, no old coin will be safe from you! Crazy thing is....I have been using the etrac for over two yrs and your STILL beating me this yr in silver!

You might try what I have been trying on my highly mineralized beach. If your going to dig everything anyways try prospecting mode with iron notch on 1 if you can handle it. Check out some videos on how to set it up on YouTube. Pretty simple. This beach I am hitting did the same thing you mentioned with jumpy tones all over the place. Come to find out the ground is wet 3-6 inches down and half black sand. Gb no higher than 10 . I tried every setting on coin mode, nothing but erratic chirping. I dig a bunch of trash on prospecting mode and I mean a bunch. Here's the ticket, I am finding nickels and deep, the 3 I dug this morning were close to 8 inches deep on average, below the wet sand line everytime. Hopefully this means gold may have been skipped over. I have seen people detecting here but it's busy so there are fresh drops also. You can get used to the tones and almost discriminate by ear but I still like to dig. Try it out there may be more goodies deeper that coin mode can't see. Good luck.

Sorry not sure if yours has prospecting mode. Also pinpoint mode gives me about the same depth as prospecting so if you can handle the noise it might be worth it.
