G'day guys and girls, I just signed up to this magic forum!
I have recently bought an xterra 705 with the concentric and elliptical coil. I took it for a walk up a mountain I live at the base of for it's first test run.
I have never had anything to do with metal detectors although my father was once a great gold prospector. Within an hour of my journey I managed to find some old spent bullets. A .22lr a .22 magnum and a .25ACP pistol round which I have never seen! I've been bitten by metal detecting bug!!!
Cheers, Keith

No wondering I have been eating so many beans lately. Lol

Welcome Robbo. You will want to read digger(Randy) e book on your machine. Check also the FAQ section and listen for the solid tones. Good luck.

thanks guys, I appreciate it. I have read the e book but couldnt really make much of it. My xterra lives in prospect mode, so when ever i get a bit of free time i bury tiny bits of lead (.2 gram) in the yard and then try to pin point them and recover.
seem to be slowly getting used to the machine. I do live in pretty hot soil but which makes it hard, the magnet on top of my pick is always covered in iron!
cheers, Keith
