XP-PRO plus?

How many of you have used a compass XP-PRO plus and what are your thought's? Does it have decent depth for an older analog machine? And does it have good modulated audio to help tell deeper targets from shallow? And lastly any big difference between XP-PRO and XP-PRO plus? Thanks.

Hi Harold,
Never used an XP Pro Plus! But I did have a Gold Scanner Pro! (Should have Kept it) My opinion is that the John Earle Varifilter detectors
are the Best of the scanner series..and the GoldScanner Pro would be the top of the line in the Vari filter design with the XP Pro just behind...
The sad thing about the scanners is, find a Meter Movement for them if your meter should fail...I purchased the Last new Meter Movement from
East Texas MD several years back and installed it into the GSP pictured Below...It's from a scanner that used the Double A batteries as you can
tell the difference by the Battery Check Range....I use a Mark-1 now but you can still get a meter for them even if you have to order a whites replacement
for a XL Pro..

Thank's for the info Dugger you are always very informative on the older units. I did not know about the meter unavailability. It kind ofmakes me re think the possible purchase of one. Maybe a person cound get lucky and never have a problem with one? I mean you see analog CZ's that last for years. But that is one thing I love about CZ's as they are built like little tanks. I guess us CZ guys are lucky they still make them, Even if they have some quality control problems from time to time.

Thanks Harold,
When I done a G.B. mod on a coin scanner pro I noticed that the Analog Needle movement was not like
it is on the older Whites and TeKnetics analog meters.... The older whites and tek analog meter movement is
mostly if not completely sealed...not so on the scanner series...the meter movement is installed between the clear lense and the
probable target screen..it's allot more prone to accidental breakage or being knocked out of place causing the needle to stick if the detector should take
a fall..When you look for a scanner to buy make sure the needle doesn't stick and the needle is centered on the black line above
iron and below the zero as shown in the photo I posted earlier....Doug
