I don't have the battery or the charger, but I do have and use the

4 c cell standard battery pack, maybe you can still purchase one

of these (see photo ) I also use the battery adapters, they allow me

to use A A rechargeables, someone must have them.

Good Luck in your search.

As leslie said above, unless you specifically want to use only the rechargeable batt packs, the box like leslie shows IS still available, I just bought 2 of them this week. I MAY be able to track down a charger, I'll do some checkin for ya.

Thank you Leslie and Dirt Slinger,,,,, I have one of those and have been going with it .just tired of buying batteries ,,lol ,,,,, The reason i have 3 rechargeable nicad packs is because I went to the hobby shop looking for a charger and they had 2 new 4.8 packs and sold them both for 12 dollars, couldn't pass that up.I did get one of my old chargers to work, somewhat, but its the older charger that doesn't cut off after the pac is charged so im always scared to leave the house dont want to burn the pack up.or the house down..and the newer ones cut off after charging . I know some about batteries. but chargers have left me behind. smart charging.and chargers that drain the batteries down first then charge Wow ,,,, and Dirt Slinger if you happen to see one somewhere dont hesitate to contact me. I have found some chargers... Need to put different ends on some but look promising .here are some pics ..and thank you again.any help is greatly appreciated.

and more . but i think these could work. but like I said i am a little lost when it comes to chargers.

Thanks for the input TerraDigger I do have some NIMH BATTERIES with tabs on ,And was going to solder them together and make a pack to charge. The MAH. are around 4000 or 4800, cant remember now,But I was afraid to use them because of the high '' MAH.'',and if it would fry the detector I don't know what the MAH. on the nicad's are ,That came with it, .Do you know if the 6000 has a regulator in it to keep the MAH. steady or can you use a higher MAH. or doesn't it matter what amperage it is.It looks like you are doing OK with the ones you are using .And if anyone knows .chime in please. I cant seem to find a lot about voltage and amperage on these . to be sure . Just bits and peaces, here and there.

Here's what I use. Plus the battery capacity is about 3x what a White's Ni-Cad is:

My concern with that, and it may not be a problem, is that there was a paper that came with the batt boxes I got from Whites that said use Alkaline batts only.

work with all Whites Rechargeable Batteries including the

4.8 Volt Maybe worth checking out.

I tried to send you a PM ,forgot you are a new member.

No part number but it is a Whites accessory, so Whites

dealer or Whites themselves would be worth a bell ( telephone )

Let us know how you make out

Les,,, I was looking at the plug on the charger, it doesn't look like a '' U.S.'' plug? '' United States ''

I am still going to call.

I would go with the rechargeables, I use the 2500 mAh 1.2 Volt x 4 and they

work just fine, as a matter of fact I use the same batteries in all of my other

detectors with no problem, the AAs with the plastic battery adapters do lighten

the load a little

H H and take care

Thanks for the input guy's, I finally got a charger off a friend that he has been charging is 4.8 v pac with it for a year with no problems, he runs hobby car's and planes , so it charges everything .Traded him and old dewalt drill charger for it. So if I go to update to NiHM It well be easy, here is a pic of the charger. No $200 charger but will work for me.
