Hi Ray, I had the exact same problem from my T2 LTD.

I tried all the things I've learned over the last 40 years of using detectors to correct the trouble. I had bought it from KellyCo and called them to report the trouble I was having in case they knew of a fix. They sent me a return pick up slip from UPS and sent out the new detector right away. Since we had the same problem with the new machine it seems Tecnetics has some kind of "Snafu" with a few of them. I have delt with Kellyco for years and never had a problem with any service from them, they stand behind everything they sell at a good price. I've hunted with the old T2 for 2 years and it's a SUPER machine. I can't wait to get into some of my old spots with the LTD. I bet there is a lot of good items still in the ground.

is also an Embalming instrument for aspirating fluid from hollow organs. I'm a mortician and use one all the time, so I figured it would be a good nickname. It might have been more fitting if I had chosen the name "Digger" since I've been hunting since 1968.

Is anyone having problems with their LTD? Just received it Thursday and having a major problem.. At first I thought it was the batteries, so I went and bought two different name brands and the same thing kept happening. So I checked the battery contacts but they seem fine.. After varying amounts of time the screen goes blank but the tones and so forth still work.. Turn it off and back on and it works normally , I think (new detector haven't used it enough to know).. Seems unstable..I swore I wouldn't buy another FTP but the T2 LTD seemed like a great detector and FTP has come a long ways since then.. I had a very bad experience wit 2 problem F75's.. I sold 2 very nice detectors to purchase this.. I'm a bit frustrated as this is the end of the season here and now have to deal with this.. Help!!
Thanks,
Ray

I'm glad I read your post last week Ray. I picked my T2 up here in England today. I'd driven 100 miles to get it and a friend nearby promised me a day out. Got in the field, and within 30 seconds I had exactly the same problem. All audio working but the screen just went blank. I thought of your post immediately. I tried a different coil, changed the batteries but it would only reset when switched off and on again and then go blank after a few moments. Luckily I went straight back to the dealer who had just on unit left (the last in the country!). This one works fine. Abviously a few duffers knocking around.

Makes one wonder if the connector to the LCD screen is coming loose on a few during shipping
