Teknetics knocked it out of the park re-releasing the T2 Classic!!!

I swear this machine is awesome I have been out a few times so far with my new T2 Classic. All I can say is this machine is something short of awesome. I have already found 5 Confederate infield bullets with it at a area I have hammered with multiple machines. I love the all metal function on this detector it gives you target ID and it's extremely deep. The bullets were well over the length of my Propointer. I have also found it a joy to use coin hunting. I don't know what they did but I can run this machine wide open 99 sensitivity and it purrs like a kitten with no EMI. I just wanted to let anyone on the ropes thinking of getting one that I'm extremely happy with it and would highly recommend it. I actually may buy another one for my 14 year old son they're that good.

I was about to order a new Fisher F5 that I read about for over a year. The Teknetics T2 caught my eye at the last minute and I ordered it. I have found it to be just as you described it. I was using and still do from time to time a Fisher F2. Great machine for turn on and go! The T2 is just about as easy to use with a lot more options. I think just like you that this is a amazing machine for the money. Also the E.M.I. problem a lot of people talk about I have not experienced it with this machine at all. Now I have to get that NEL Sharpshooter coil you talked about.

It will hold its own against anything out there at any price. I love mine.

My original green T2 which is a 2009 vintage and the Sharpshooter coil is a killer combination, never liked the 11 stock coil for some reason, they did have reliabilty issues with the original coils mainly with the coil plugs, but i reckon the performance of the Sharpshooter is not all that far behind the stock coil performance wise.Another small thing i like about that NEL coil is its centre mounted on the coil rather than mounted on the rear, only a small thing but i feel it makes the machine balance better.

The NEL Sharpshooter is a must have for the T2. The only place I get EMI on mine is at a park next to a RADAR array, and sometimes from my cell phone if I forget to turn it off. Most my spots are too trashy for larger coils, I run the Sharpshooter and the 5" coil 95% of the time. I like how the smaller coils really lock onto targets and deal with the carpet of iron and square nails.

Does this new T2 classic have a boost mode and a cache mode?
Just wondering, thanks

No it does not but does not need it. It is an awsome detector as good as anything made! Well thats my opinion anyhow. :)

I second what farmer farmer85j said the T2 Classic is awesome without the boost or cache modes. I had a T2SE that had those features and never used them the boost mode would make the machine go nuts and cache mode had a very slow response and you had to slow your swing down a ton to use it.

No it does not,i dont own a classic as i own a original green model which is exactly the same basically as the classic, its deep enough on it own,but if you want the extra depth the all i do is use one of my bigger coils either the NEL Storm,BIg NEL,Teknetics 15'' boat anchor,SEF15x12,my favourite out of the larger coils i use is the NEL Storm as not only does it give me some very good additional depth that will get below what other folks with standard coils use but also its still very sensitive to small coin size items as well as most large coils as a general rule start loosing out to small item but will go deeper on larger finds.

Its always a trade off when using a large coil, when i use my large 20'' Mono coil on my TDI Pro the depth from that combination is amazing the larger the target is,it still will find single coins but its not the right tool for the job as they say,the big hitting rig is mainly for hoard and artifact hunting at depth.

I am getting a T2 and was wondering about the NEL coils. I've seen a lot of posts were people rave of the sharpshooter/T2 combo. How do the other coils like the smaller snake and larger tornado NELs compare to the Teknetics coils?

The T2 and the Tornado coil has too be one of the most popular combination here in the UK,the Tornado is very popular with most other detectors as well, they are a great all round stock coil replacement, giving better depth and ground coverage. The Sharpshooter is just a really lovely detector combination for once again all round use,i still dont think it looses much if any depth over the stock coil, but it much better in trashy sites like say parks.

For the money the Sharpshooter and Tornado are superb coils on the T2,very reliable and also light for the size.

Thanks guys, your awesome. I am mainly a cache seeker. Coins only sometimes. I am seriously thinking about this T2 classic. Everything i read is mostly good. Saw on here where one guy dug a beer can at 20 inches. If it will do that, that's what I am looking for.

Also how about that 15" teknetics coil that comes with some of the T2 classics. Anyone used that in a relic hunt? If so what kind of Depth did you get from that coil?

If i recall they had a amazing offer on that 15'' coil and possibly still do,one has too think why ?? i have the answer but i suggest you try one 1st prior to buying one if possible, they are deep but have one major draw back and hence the amazing low offer price they use to have with the T2 and that draw back is the weight.Of course others may say differently but mine is just gathering dust in the garage.
