Am wondering how accurate the target i d is at some depth on the newer T2 C. I had one about 10 or so years ago, but can't recall how accurate the coin i d was on it. Thanks for your input. HH jim tn

Hey Jim-----I'm probably not the best guy to try and answer your question but I'll give it a shot.-----On those two T2C's I just purchased for my wife & I---they seem to numeric I.D. pretty well at depth (5+) & they run VERY quiet.----On the first hunt my wife & I took them on--the first thing we noticed right off the bat was that they are deeper machines than our F-19's/G2+'s.-----However---to the depth that the F-19's/G2+'s (19 KHz) are capable of---the TID is just a wee/little more tighter/accurate on them than the T2C (13 KHz).-----That's not a bad thing though as the T2C's are plenty adequate on TID at depth and like I said are deeper machines than the F-19/G2+.------Also, I believe Keith said the T2C #'s come up in the 80's I.D. on a deep dime (I think it was a dime)--whereas the same deep coin read 00 on the F-15 (85th anniversary model).----Maybe Morgan (88 junior) will chime in here on this---he's pretty sharp on the T2C.--------Anyway, this is my 2 cents worth---hope it helps you in some small way.--------Del

I have had my 'original' T2 for many years and always go by the audio its far more reliable than what the TID on the screen is,at below say the 7-8'' depth range most screens are in my mind unreliable for making the dig/no dig decision, you could/will miss deep targets just by relying on the screen.Of course this is just how i use my T2,and when using a larger coil too gain the extra depth like the large SEF 15x12 or BIG NEL 17x15 then the screen is then basically no good what so ever,it then solely becomes a audio only detector with the threshold hum being the last audio means but then this is why when going after the real deep hoards/artifacts its very important to have decent headphones so you dont miss those deep signals.

Deus and Nexus MP main everyday detectors

Displays on a Detector are really the equivalent of relying on sub-titles,give me a Analogue machine anyday.

Site specific use machines.

Crossbow PI Coiltek 14x9 Mono
Mirage PI 5'' Mono

I find soil conditions to be everything with the ID on the T2 Classic (and obviously many other detectors). I have seen it struggle with 6 inch wheat pennies in crazy mineralized soil - then ID a Merc at 8-9 inches with little to no ID bounce in a nice park with soft soil.

I have 300 or so hours on mine...my wife has 100 or so hours on her F19. I agree with the above that the F19/G2+ are about as stable of an ID as you can get. Even at the fringe of their detecting capabilities they can lock a coin ID pretty well. The T2 will usually start to jump past the 6-7 inch range. But like I said...it has surprised me with some deep ID's on occasion in softer soils.

Fully agree with Mega...past 7-8 inches it becomes an audio game at that point with the T2 any many others as well.

Thanks guys for your feed back. I, too, go by audio first and foremost, but was just curious how it did on deeper coins. Again, thanks. HH jim tn

Hey Jim in my 3-4 bar dirt I can hit a 10" clad dime using the stock coil with a brisk sweep speed and it ID's in the 80's like a dime should. I was absolutely floored at this machine being able to do this. It is a awesome machine at a heck of a price for the performance you'll get out of it.
