Hi,
I just bought a bounty hunter quicksilver and would like to know other people's thoughts about this unit. I plan on taking it to Myrtle Beach this weekend to play with it.
Thanks
Phil

Hi Philfour,
A MD club friend of mine got a Quicksilver for his 12 years old
nephew and together they found quite a few coins with it at the
boy's schoolyards. He said that for it's low price it worked
really well with good depth and great sound from the 3 tone
audio ID. Plus, the auto GB seemed to be very efficient too.
They haven't tried it on an ocean beach yet, but I will venture
to say it'll do real well in the dry sand areas but I don't
know about the wet/damp sands. Most VLF detectors have some
trouble with the high capacitance wet salt sands which call for
decreasing the sensitivity some and increasing the disc. a bit.
But again, the dry sand should be no problem as it's a very
functional detector in most aspects. Let us know how you do
with it at Myrtle and Good Luck!

Hi Philfour,
By the way, if you search in the water, don't get the
circuit box wet. This is true for all dry land detectors,
of course.
