Hi,
I have been using the X-Terra for over 12months & had no problems. It has paid for itself in coins from the beach. I can only assume that it was the thunderstorm activity in the area.

As for the Infinium - it has hardly stopped raining & the storms are too frequent to go out. The way things are going, I won't have to dig a hole it will all be mud.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll put them into practice as soon as the Gods calm down.

Gary.

The Infinium is always better at finding items that have been in the ground a long time or there naturally or by fate. I did all the same tests you did with the same results don't sweat it or worry about it just spend some time with it and you'll soon understand. My first real nugget with my Infinium was found with the 5"x10" DD coil @ 5" and was 1.8g

Yeh Adrian is correct as the Infinium needs to be around 5ish threshold. On 3 is hard to hear anything.

Up around 5 on threshold is about the right Sizzle (i call it) before target signal ~ which i call breakover

Not trying to hi jack this thread but very surprised to hear about the poor performance of the X-terra 705. I have only heard good to great things abouth them. I was kind of expecting to hear how the X-terra stomped the other excluding the infinium - I that it would do best of all of them.

Been really think about getting an infinium for a coin shooter wanted something that would look a little deeper then the VLF detectors with the idea that the older and better stuff is out of reach of the normal VLF being swung in the parks. If the 0 to 6 has been picked clean but what abouth the 6 to 12 dirt or maybe even deeper.
