Is the E-Trac a dime magnet?

I have dug more dimes than any other coin since I started swinging the e-trac. I know you have to get your detector over it to find it, but i am digging mostly dimes. Not complaining at all! Curious if anyone else noticed this or anything similar.

I'd rather have your problem! While I find a decent amount of dimes my coil seems to run over way too many pennies. I know, I don't have to dig 'em but I do....

Dimes are the smallest, common silver denomination. They are tinier than a penny and easy to lose.
Being such, harder to detect and find especially if iron or trash is nearby.
In the public places that have been slammed with every make of detector that is pretty much the silver left you are going to find as most of the good stuff was pulled
out years ago.
But, hey...I will take it

If you do what Goes4Ever does and get on some private property with permission, I think you will see it will find you more than just dimes.

When I first got my E-trac I noticed that I dug a lot of pennys and thought it was a penny magnet. I do however dig alot of dimes also. Freakin pennys hit all over the conductive scale from lower than zinc to quarter signals. Crazy !!

I agree 100%. I have way more dimes then any other silver denomination. Of course, the pennies win out when counting any type of coin.

I beleve dimes are just dropped more often than most other coin denomination,I have dug them 9 to 10 inches deep, and the e trac will slam any coin but it loves copper and silver the most! And a word on the local park hunts, they have been pounded for 40 years so go slow and low and you just might get something we missed! Good luck and HH, Mole

LOL, thanks for watching! Trust me there is more out there, but the difficulty is a lot higher, just be patient and learn what the machine is telling you and it will all fall into place, don't be afraid to dig questionable signals, you got to learn what's under that coil at all times, you wouldn't beleve how much junk I dug to learn the difference! and it was well worth it because now I dig much less junk,I'm on my way out the door to go find me some!! And if you would like to join me sometime you are welcome,if it wasn't for a couple good guys I met on you tube I would have had a much harder time good luck and HH, Mole

I dig alot more questionable signals now than I have with other machines.
I agree the difficulty is extreme. But, I believe that is why it is so challenging.
If it is down deep chances are there is something in the way or nearby that will alter it a bit.
It is a tool and one must be patient and perfect it's use, and I think most of us, including myself are still students to the art.
