Although it's advertised for Thier FBS machines,is it mostly geared towards ctx3030 users? Would I get my money's worth it I took my Etrac?

A follow-up to this question. I was thinking about going to one this year, but a guy who went last year sent me his notes. It's two pages of stuff that anybody who uses one of these detectors should already know (first number is ferrous, second is conductive, shaded areas are discriminated, DD coil sensitivity is highest down the middle, etc). Is the bootcamp just a rehash of the book and the user manual? Seems really expensive if that's all you get out of it....

I attended a camp in Indiana and really learned a lot. You can ask about the basics if you want, but there was a lot to learn about both machines. Menu functions, discrimination patterns and hunting strategies were covered. For me, it was well worth the money and a day's drive. You'll be encouraged to ask questions both in the lectures and in the field and can contact Andy later if you forgot to ask about something. I'd attend another camp if I could afford it.

Can you give us an example of something specific you learned which you would think is not common knowledge by someone who had read the manual thoroughly?

I recently signed up for the March 12th boot camp at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. I'm hoping to get some incite into making better decisions in the field with adapting the CTX to different conditions I come across. I realize that there is no substitute for time on the machine and experience in the field. I'm just looking to shorten the learning curve without always wondering if there is anything more I could have done to maximize the machine's potential during a hunt. I've had the CTX for about a year and hunt approximately 6 hours a week.I consider myself a novice because, although I've done well, I'm still looking to get everything out of the machine as well as myself. I know I'm just scratching the surface of this machine's capabilities. Can anyone who has attended in the past tell me if they noticed a difference in their ability after the camp as compared to before? Did you see improvement in any specific area and was there any "aha moment" for you and what was it? I've already read Andy's CTX book cover to cover several times as well as the manual. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I have to admit that I also read the book on the V3i and it was a very good book for a beginner and great for explaining every function on the Detector, but I hunt with a Etrac now and I have not heard of any of the "Aha" revelations given by the Bootcamp myself.
