12.5 high pass 7.5 frequency Gets me a keeper:detecting:

I have absolutely detected my house and yard to death. It has yielded 3 gold rings and countless coins, half a dozen silvers. Nearly a half pound of silver scraps of different sorts. I usually ran around in the 5hz low pass running 3 frequency and decided to mix it up by running the extreme other end of the spectrum. I found this Wheat at around 5" and stuck it in my pocket. Got in the house after digging up countless other small pieces of brass and some deep mason jar lids that I did not consider good targets when running the 5hz low pass and 3 frequency.

It is not the holy grail of pennies but it sure had me going when I saw the 1909

Last time I found a 1909 I stood up on my headphone cable and snapped it in half trying to get to the truck and my water bottle to see what I had. Turned out to be a 1909 no S no V.B.D. cost me 40 bucks for another set of cheap decent head phones. Won't make that mistake again!

I found a 1914 penny while detaching near an old church downtown last week. But after cleaning it off it there was no "D" so it wasn't the one that was worth 300 bucks, rather it is worth about $3. Its still the oldest penny I have found so far.

I am still looking for good places to find my first silver..... Got some gold in the form of a (.24 oz 14k wedding ring), but still no silver.....

VX3, Garrett ProPointer and a bucket accumulation of pop tabs and coins......

It's good to experiment and not get in a rut using what everyone else is using. Right now you know the V works at both limits but you still don't know which is better in your ground. That's because you are making finds at the same depth with both extremes. You just have to wait for that really deep one and then make changes for the best results.

NICE FIND.
