What does it mean.. V-rated eclipse coils, versus regular 950, 5.3 coils ?????

The coils have to be "nulled to a closer tolerance to be able to to handle the 22.5 kHz. Non V rated coils will work on the single 2.5 and 7.5 kHz frequency, but not on 3 frequency or single 22.5 kHz.

Non V rated coils still work on all 3 frequencies including the 22.5kHz. They just don't always allow the V3i operator to use the TX Boost mode. Most of my coils, I've had prior to the release of the V3i so I use them all the time on it. Some will allow the use of TX Boost while some won't. The V rated coils are built to closer tolerences. V rated coils make absolutly no difference to the M6, DFX, or MXT.

Yes, non V rated coils are a crap shoot, some work and some don't. Even the ones that don't overload are still operating at a higher signal% loss. I should have stated clearer that they work fine on 2.5 and 7.5. It only affects modes that use the 22.5kHz.
