Pewter Eagle button

Well 2 or 3 weeks ago or so, I went detecting with a few buddies of mine and found some lead bullets, mini balls, shell casings and my first eagle button. I was happy to find it, since this place has been hunted for probably 20-30 years by more detectors than Carter has liver pills. I was a little disappointed at first because it was a small one and not the larger type. Then Blind Squirrel told me that it was pewter and a one piece Infantry button that was fairly rare. He also told me that the button was probably 1820-1830 vintage. That really made me feel a lot better. It is worn, but not worn out, and is kind of hard to get a good picture of it, but this was as good as i could get.
The other items were found locally and are .925 silver. The two rings are birthstone rings and the tweety bird is sterling. These were found at local schools. It is really amazing how many gold and silver charms and rings I have found at the elementary schools.

Thanks, PostalTwo. Pickings at the site where we go, are pretty slim. The good part though, is that we have a chance to find something over 150 yrs old.

Thanks, Texjim! I always like finding old stuff and this button is pretty old. Usually, I am trying to find something older than me for it to be a successful day. I think I have a little cushion from this one. And, of course, finding silver anywhere is always nice.
Happy Hunting!!
