Steve originally posted something to the effect that the NEW TDI (Standard) was not the Magic Bullet but close to it. Remember Steve is an accomplished detectorist and also multi-lines including Minelab.
I had discovered this Iron / NON Iron Technique and had shared a couple of telephone conversations with Steve. What you do is set your Pulse Rate at 10uS. Ground Balance is Set to Where MOST Iron will transition to a HIGH Tone so approximately between 9 o'clock to 8:30 o'clock. HIGH Conductive Coins and Silver Rings MAINTAIN their LOW Tone. Since most significant pieces of Ferrous are LOW, and now HIGH.... now throw the Conductivity Switch to HIGH. You won't pick up any of the NUISANCE Tin Foil which can be 10 to 1 in Trash Parks, NO Bottle Caps (or as my English Friends say "Crown Caps") and you will sacrifice most all Gold Rings and Nickels. Utilize the 3 Ss (Size, Shape, Signal (response) and Cherry Pick for that Deep Silver. No other
PIs have this Capability.
Again, I'll give Steve Credit for this Technique. PS: You can't do this with the SL, YET.
