Day with E-Trac: day 1

Field conditions: chilly, windy, cloudy, wet ground

Time spent with E-Trac: 1 hour air testing last night

Location: my back yard

Location details: 100+ year old house on 1 acre. old coal mine across street. House was 'lantern master' home for the mine in the 1900's.

Previous detectors in location: Fisher F2 and Minelab X-terra 705

E-Trac settings: default coin setting. start up settings

Details of hunt: my Fisher F2 is a good entry level detector. it hit coins well. The Minelab 705, a better detector, found what the F2 didn't. The E-Trac was a totally new level. I read the manual and did about an hour air testing the night it arrived with some coins. I posted a pic of what I found in my yard and it amazed me. This is an area I went over with the F2 and the 705. No slight on the 705 and F2, and I am getting no Minelab endorsements, but the depth and hits were amazing. This was factory settings too!...LOL. I can only imagine when I learn all the sounds, customize it a little for the location I am at and have more practice slow-swinging instead of run-n-gun style I do a lot. Almost bought an F-75 LTD for that reason. When it hit that 22 caliber bullet at about 6 inches and I heard a ton of 'nulling' in the backround, I was very impressed.

Target aquisitions (best guess on identification): brass pipe elbow, aluminum sliver, capped metal suqeeze tube, copper tube flange, 1 newer dime, 3 newer pennies, 1 wheat penny, 2 'lift this side' snaps, grommet, metal clasp, bronze(?) gear, 22 caliber bullet, mining board tag with miner 235 stamped on it.

Review: With slow-n-low detecting, this E-Trac will totally clean out parks of anything of value. Just my thought after day 1.

Did you find out what the LIFT THIS SIDE clasps/snaps are for? I found two today. I'm really curious as what they are?
