Mission Espada is one of five missions established in this area over 250 years ago. These missions were built with Indian slave labor, and the fact that they are still standing will atest to their strong, sturdy construction from rocks native to the area. Weekly church services are still being conducted at Mission Espada. Kelley (Texas)

Note: The Alamo is the most famous of the original five missions in the area.
This aquaduct was used to transport water from the river to Mission Espada.
