This is what Lesa has pulled out of her change in the last couple of months. It's interesting that these coins are still in circulation yet today.

She's very lucky. I bet some child got into their parent's stash and spent some of it on candy, etc. Uh oh......:nono: Good eye Lisa!!!!!! HH, no matter where you look! Nancy

Very nice finds. Silver is an uncommon find but the indian is really kool rarity in todays change. I agree with Nancy that some kid probably got into their parents collection.

If you work at it, you will be amazed by what you can find. Your wife has a well trained eye. Most people, especially young people today, don't see a single coin worth say $2.00 as worthwhile. Also I believe most of the silver in circulation today comes from late Aunt Martha's estate. Older folks think that "this will be worth something someday if I hang on to it". Then after they pass the younger generation, comes in to clear out the house, take all the coins to the bank and divide the green stuff among the heirs.

She did good, it has been a LONG time since I have seen either in pocket change.

Bells and whistles are nice, but nothing will substitute for the basic understanding of the hobby.

My wife works at Aldi's and I've trained her to listen for the "clank" of silver in change, and she keeps it for me. She has also had a customer pay with 3 Morgan dollars and 2 Peace dollars and Yes those also became mine. It's still out there, and if you know someone who works in retail, train them on what to look for so they can save it for you.

It makes you wonder why they didn't sell the coins to a coin or jewelry shop instead of using them at the store. Hmm. Stupidity??? Shoot, even a pawn store. HH, Nancy

Many aren't not aware of the value of silver. Many more don't care. I have bank tellers that sell me their silver finds for face value every month. They know the coins have value, They just don't care.
