Need some feed back on which coil would work best on the AT-Pro for high trash area's? Mainly for coin shooting in parks ( the 4.5" sniper ) or ( the 5" X 8" DD ) Thanks

From the posts the 5x8 works great for trashy areas. The sniper works best near objects, like swings, monkey bars, etc. Places you gotta get in near and tiny places a normal coil won't go.

I certainly would NOT wanna do a whole park with a sniper coil....the standard coil takes long enough!

The super sniper 4.5 would be the ultimate trash sifter but I pretty much use it around totlots. The area it covers is pretty small. The 5x8 DD has better depth in my impression and is a really good coil in trash. I still like the big DD coil in low trash sites for the coverage and a little more depth but if it's trashy the small DD gets my vote every time. Just remember in the trash to slow way down and listen, it can really pull the targets out of the mix if you give it time to do it's job.

If you are hunting along side metal play equipment or along chain link fences, the sniper coil can get up right beside those areas. The 5 x 8 coil can not get up that close to those areas however, because it is a DD coil and has a narrow detecting field vertically, it does an excellent job picking out coins buried directly beside or even underneath some junk targets.

Hope this helps. The sniper coil should easily get at least 6" on a coin sized object in good soil, the 5 x 8 even more.

I use the 4.5 coil for trashy areas because i hunt alot of trashy areas. I have dug Quarter at 10" and old Parking meters are a breeze.Try using a Banana Shape coil in a big rocky area.

If you have heavy mineralization, definitely the DD coil. Plus better target seperation, provided its not super intense trash levels. Like you need a Garrett pinpointer to see through the trash...lol. Only you know how severe the trash is. Hit up a forum sponsor if buying, competitively priced and it helps support this website.
