Good videos, but it's funny. They point out sweeping the coil parallel to the ground, but I notice he has a habit of upsweeping when he swings to his right side alot.

I go through the tutorials time and time again and always find something I skipped over or missed the first time out. Thanks for putting this up as it will be extremely valuable even after seeing it several times. Onus

I'm new to detecting. I bought an AT PRO last year and have been out 4 or 5 times for about a total of 10 hrs. Yesterday I went out for the first time this year and I hit a target with a VDI in the 50's to 60's at about 8 inches deep. I started digging and I got to a foot deep till I hit a big flat rock and still nothing. My signal was stronger now 60's to 70's at 8 inches deep, so I dug out wider so I could fit my coil down lower. Now my hole is about 18 inches wide in all directions and 12 inches deep but the flat rock still covers the whole bottom of my hole. My VDI reading is now 77 to 82 but it still says that my target is 4-6 inches deep now. I had to stop digging but I plan to finish today or tomorrow as long as I can get the big rock out of my way. Any thoughts as to why my reading keeps going up the further down I dig? Shouldn't it stay the same reading? Thanks for any advice.

I own one and when I went to the beach I always took it there and it can give me some surprises. and I also can take it to the park to or find the metal goods, such as coins and so on. It has also helped find the ring that I lost in the garden, this is really great.

Not sure if anyone else had this problem, I could not insert the shaft with the main box on it into the mid shaft, there seemed to be way too much paint on the shafts. I had to use some fine sandpaper to scrub away some paint and then a little lube to get it to slide together finally! Just an ASSEMBLY TIP for people trying to put together their new atgold.

A few weeks ago someone posted a link to a video of a Garrett developer that was explaining the operation of the discrimination and iron audio functions of the AT Pro. It was filmed indoors with the unit mounted on a table. I really liked this video as I could finally understand more about the ATP. Now I have lost the link to this video and it is not on the page referred to in the link above. If anyone has the link please post it again.

Thank you these are very helpful! I'm a rookie but I'm pulling coins out of the ground and digging little trash.
