Hello to all the AT. Us res I just got my pro and have never used a detector before. But reading the posts here have got me excited to get digging. The tips and videos have cleared up a lot for me. Thank you all. Is there many people on here from Toronto Ontario on here?

Welcome to the group, hunttech. Your going to get a lot of enjoyment out of your detector, as I do. There are folks from all over the place on here. Me...Southwest Washington.

Hello !

I am also from T.O..(Toronto).and also a newbie..!

Waiting for my Garrett 250 , Pin Pointer and gear to arrive before the snow flies!

Been experimenting with this hobby with the help of a neighbor who was kind enough

to let me try this potential hobby, with a spare detector (a Garrett 150).

I was hooked after finding a silver 1962 quarter,,and other recent dated coins

He told me I was a natural!..That convinced me.!!

By the way..can you do this in the snow with a Garrett 250 ...of course on a mild day?
!

From Indiana.
Have had three detectors: the Ace 250 I've had 8 years now. Started lout
with the IDX Pro but sold it. An MXT used also; a great machine but heavy.
I use the ACe most of the time but am looking to get aother detector.

Enjoy the hobby. Loads of good places to detect.

Hello from Spain and you be welcome. This place is very nice, interesting and instructive, the ideal complement to our hobby. I think you can balance the machine with snow but will lose its height in depth.
un saludo

Thank You Senda,

Yes....your advice for detecting in the snow makes a lot of sense!!

But as long as I dont lose my Garret Pin Pointer,,,,I should be ok ...right?

With so much snow is better to try winter sports and leave the machine at home

Welcome to THE forum, you will like it here. You can detect in the snow and cold, but the colder it is, the shorter your battery life. Also the more snow on the ground, the harder it is to get a good sig. It can be done when there isnt snow on the ground but then you will have to deal with frozen ground. Oh boy, just hope for an early spring!
