Hammered silver coin on the prairies!!

Ok, so it's not what you expected hehe! There are train tracks nearby so I assumed this silver quarter was a track coin. But, I think it might have been hammered. Anyway it's either 1953 or 1963. I popped out a 1930d wheat, then 1957 dime. And then to my amazement, a beautiful 1914 fishscale.

Then the guy across the street basically told me to get lost. This is a new location to me, it's a tiny town 10 minutes away. There are 15 houses and an old store, and the whole town is being bulldozed next spring so a grain terminal can be built. He is the only guy left in the town, the other 1 resident has already moved. I was digging carefully, removing trash...all the things a detectorist is supposed to do. The town is being bulldozed! What does he care...douche-tard. Anyway, I will be going back.

I have been on a roll, and yes that guy is a miserable jerk. When we were talking, I mentioned it looked like there had been a building at this particular grassy patch beside what looked like an old wagon trail. He said "no building, there was just a bunch of playground equipment there years ago, and that is just the old (1910 era) trail to the railroad track.". He said it like I was wasting my time at that spot. He obviously has no idea that that is a PRIME spot, the kind I dream about.

It's sad, I was going to offer he and his wife a few of my finds. I have heard that his wife is super nice, in fact my dad was great friends with her brother years ago. I though it would be nice to give them some small historical keepsakes from the town they have lived in for years. Soon it will cease to exist.

Anyway, I will keep you posted on what happens.
