Hey folks
I have two gold rings and they ring up as 46-47 and 48-49. They are women’s small 14k with diamonds.
Any one know other size and gold content (18k 24k etc) ring up as?
Than you!

Trying to nail down exact VDI numbers for gold rings is nearly impossible. I have dug gold rings in the 80's, 70's, 60's, 50's and 40's. It all depends on their size, their gold-K, what they are amalgamated with and any oxides which could form on their surface. Generally, the gold gives off a softer signal, does not scream at you like pulltabs do with that double bleep on the Garrett detectors and often will read out close to pulltabs, but sound different.

The best way to get more rings is to detect areas where they tend to be lost and dig more iffy or odd signals.

Thanks John.. I’ll start digging it all I guess from 40 up. Sounds like it’s not an “81 that’s a dime” situation.
