Tones of signals in every sweep!!!!!! That should tell you something. Slow down Man!!!!!!
I know the G2 likes a fast Sweep on some targets but by varying sweep speeds you get some different signal responses and this is really noticeable on the 5x10 coil for me. I hunt at 40 in disc and I know its allot of info but if you don't know where all that stuff is you don't know to slow down and dissect it.
The more time you spend with that g2 the more your going to realize how well it splits hairs so to speak .
Your right about the depth both the bug and the G2 are less accurate than my old eagle spectrum was. Pretty much any more if my depth reads 3 inches I cut a plug the whole depth of my less and the target is usually right about there.
I primarily hunt parks But I'm not a coin hunter, sure I love finding them and they help me from getting bored but I go with the intention of micro jewelry hunting. That being said I look at signals in the foil and tab range harder than coin range.
After a while you will notice a pattern with small jewelry. The way it I.D's and hits in the Vco in combination with the way it sounds in pin point and the sharpness or roundness of the signal. For such a simple machine with only two tones there is a wealth of info it has to offer.
Bottle caps. Nothing is fool proof but for shallow ones the nose of the coil works but not so good with the 11 the 5x10 is great for this. Also rotate around the target and watch the vdi if it jumps around as you rotate and spits a iron grunt once and a while you can almost take it to bank its a cap.
The M6 and the G2 I think would compliment each other it just depends on what type of hunting you were doing that day (Jewelry or Coin).

It would not be so bad but they ring up in the high 70's-80's where my pennies, dimes and quarters come in at. I have read about techniques to id those caps, but it's not fool proof yet but I'm trying some of Dave J's suggestions as well as Monte's techniques. I'll just have to work on it to see if I can get them figured out. It's taking some getting used to with only 2 tones when I came from a dfx with hundreds of tones. I get hung up hearing that high tone and look down to see its a VDI I may not want to dig but it also depends on the discrimination I set it on. I started low at 40, they started moving up as the sounds and signals flooded me so as not to get overwhelmed from the sheer feedback I was getting. Note, I was in a very trashy park that would give a ton of signals per sweep in most cases. It has some good things going for it, just not sure if it's what I really need for park hunting. I seem to notice a lot of relic hunters who love it and find coins as a bonus. I don't know how many coin hunters use it in trashy parks such as what I do for my type of hunting. I did find a ladies silver ring with it that rang up like a quarter, so I can't say it doesn't perform, it just may not be suited for me is all.
The downside to all of this is I will be selling the G2 now 
It is a little busy for me when I came from other units where I could notch discriminate and I am also wanting to try out other machines so this one will have to find a new home. It is a really good detector and there are people here who just love them and wouldn't part with them for any money, but I'm on the fence and going to see if the grass is greener in other pastures before I consider this one again.
